Family and Community Empowerment Department

To all our incredible GUSD Family members, we believe that parent and family engagement is fundamental to nurturing strong, effective partnerships that support the thriving development of children and families alike. These partnerships are built on fostering positive, ongoing, and goal-oriented relationships with families, aiming to:

  • Foster a supportive home learning environment

  • Enhance communication between home and school

  • Promote active involvement in school activities and decision-making processes

  • Provide resources and support for families to navigate educational and community services

  • Encourage family participation in extracurricular and enrichment opportunities

  • Strengthen community connections and collaborations

  • Support families in advocating for their children’s educational needs

  • Foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity within our school community

By fostering these partnerships, we aim to empower families to actively contribute to their children's educational journey, ensuring every child has the support and resources needed to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
